Central Wyoming College’s Davian Spoonhunter Wins Men’s Regional Title; Rustlers Dominate Top Finishes at NJCAA Region 9 Championship
The Central Wyoming College Cross Country team delivered a phenomenal performance at the 2025 NJCAA Region 9 Cross Country Championship held on Saturday, October 25th, on the CWC Lander Alpine Science Institute campus. The day was highlighted by a stunning individual victory and two top-three finishes, showcasing the program's competitive strength in the region.
Spoonhunter Crowned Men's Regional Champion
Freshman runner Davian Spoonhunter secured the Men's 8K Regional Individual Championship, leading the field with a commanding time of 30:38.28. Spoonhunter's victory was a tight battle, finishing just three seconds ahead of the second-place competitor. This individual title automatically qualifies Spoonhunter for the NJCAA National Championship meet in Fort Dodge, Iowa on November 8.

Women Runners Secure Top-Three Podium Spots
The CWC women's 5K race saw equally impressive individual performances, with two Rustlers claiming podium finishes.
Isabelle Murdock led the Rustlers, securing a 2nd place finish overall with a time of 25:23.47. Close behind her was teammate Georgeanne Moss, who finished 3rd overall with a time of 25:42.45. Both athletes demonstrated exceptional effort, helping to establish CWC as a major contender for individual honors at the regional level.
