Central Wyoming College Women's Soccer Prepares for Exciting Season with New Coach Ben Nelson

Riverton, WY— The Central Wyoming College Rustlers Women's Soccer team, coached by first-time head coach Ben Nelson, is gearing up for an ambitious start to their season in August 2025.

Having closed the previous season with a record of 4 wins, 8 losses, and 1 tie, the Rustlers are eager to turn the page with a fresh coaching perspective and a substantial influx of new talent. This season introduces 17 newcomers, supported by six returning players, including notable athletes Sienna Bodily and Jersee Clapier, both of whom earned All-Region 9 Honorable Mention accolades last year.

The team's season begins with a series of scrimmages against Rocky Mountain College and Providence on August 13 and 14, respectively. The Rustlers will host their first preseason game against Gillette College on August 22, set to be held at their home grounds in Riverton, WY. This match promises to be a notable event as it marks the first true competitive challenge for the team against a conference opponent under Coach Nelson's leadership.

"This season, we're building something real. We've got the right pieces, the right mindset, and the right group of players to take this program where it's never been before." Coach Nelson said about his team leading up to their first competition, "Every week we approach the same way—focused, prepared, and committed... I'm excited to see it pay off."

The Rustlers' schedule also highlights their first home conference game on September 19 against Casper College, which will be a crucial test in their season's progression. The team's strategy and performance during these initial matches will be pivotal as they aim to improve upon last year's record and make a significant impact in their league.
