CWC Women’s Soccer Taps into Idaho Falls Talent Pipeline with Record Recruiting Class
Riverton, WY – Central Wyoming College Women’s Soccer is proud to announce a school-record number of incoming players from Idaho for the 2025 season, with a strong core coming directly from Idaho Falls and surrounding communities.
For Head Coach Benjamin Nelson, this is more than a recruiting milestone — it’s personal.
A native of Idaho Falls and a graduate of Hillcrest High School, Coach Nelson is one of the youngest head coaches in NJCAA women’s soccer, and he’s quickly making his mark. Nelson played at Hillcrest from 2016 to 2020, helping lead the Knights to four state tournament appearances — including two district championships and a second and third-place finish at state.
“I’ve always believed Idaho Falls is a soccer community that hasn’t been fully tapped into,” said Nelson. “There’s so much talent, work ethic, and passion here. Now that I’m leading the program at CWC, I’m committed to bringing Idaho players in and building something special with them.”
After serving as the assistant coach during CWC’s best season in school history, Nelson now steps into the head coaching role — and he’s already raising the bar.
“This year, we’re going to break records. That’s the goal. And doing it with players from my hometown makes it even more meaningful.”
Idaho Recruits – Class of 2025:
-
Bryton Brown – Center Back, Idaho Falls High School (Idaho Falls, ID)
-
Emmalee Gourley – Defensive Midfielder, Idaho Falls High School (Idaho Falls, ID)
-
Jenna Dewey – Outside Back, Idaho Falls High School (Idaho Falls, ID)
-
Reese Titland – Center Forward, Hillcrest High School (Idaho Falls, ID)

Katelyn Kartchner – Center Midfielder, Rigby High School (Rigby, ID)
Many of these athletes also play together for the IFFC 2006/2007G Claret club team, adding a layer of chemistry and familiarity that Coach Nelson sees as a major asset.
“These girls already know how to play together. That’s going to help us hit the ground running. Plus, with Idaho Falls just four hours away, we’re bringing CWC a little closer to home — for them and for me.”
Nelson’s connection to Idaho soccer runs deep. He was part of the 2020–2021 CWC Men’s Soccer team — the first to reach the NJCAA regional playoffs in school history — and among the first Idaho players ever recruited to the college.
“I’ve been on both sides of the program — player and coach — and I’ve seen what’s possible when you bet on regional talent. I want players and families in Idaho to know: we’re serious about recruiting here.”

Coach Nelson will be hosting a Skills Camp and ID Camp at the Central Wyoming College Soccer Field on Friday, August 9, and invites all interested players, coaches, and families to attend:
