CWC Ranch Horse Team Ends Their Season at CSSHA Versatility Show

RIVERTON, WY – The Central Wyoming College Women’s Ranch Horse team capitalized on their home-arena advantage, delivering a stellar performance at the Cowboy State Stock Horse Association (CSSHA) Versatility Ranch Horse Show held at the Rustler Ag/Equine Complex in Riverton on May 2 and 3. Competing across multiple disciplines, the Rustler riders secured several individual championships and top-five finishes across the Open, Amateur, and Rookie divisions.

Snyder Sweeps Open Classes

In the Open division, Kaitlyn Snyder put on a masterclass of horsemanship, capturing first place in three out of five events. Snyder and her horse proved untouchable in the cattle and reining portions, winning 1st place in Open Cutting, Open Reining, and Open Cow Work. She added to her dominant weekend by securing 2nd place in Open Ranch Riding and finishing in a tie for 1st/2nd in Open Trail.

Wagner Navigates Competitive Amateur Field

Competing in the Amateur division, Adelita Wagner demonstrated remarkable consistency. Wagner kicked off her weekend with a strong 3rd place finish in Amateur Cutting and followed it up with a reserve championship, taking 2nd place in Amateur Reining. She rounded out her scorecard by placing 4th in both Amateur Cow Work and Amateur Trail, alongside a 5th/6th tie in Amateur Ranch Riding.

Rookie Division Showcases Roster Depth

The Rustlers’ Rookie competitors standardly commanded the leaderboards, highlighted by champion runs from Kodie Andersen and Sandra Dawson:

  • Kodie Andersen: Captured 1st place in Rookie Reining with a highly disciplined pattern. Andersen also earned reserve honors with a 2nd place finish in both Rookie Cutting and Rookie Ranch Riding, complemented by a 3rd place finish in Rookie Trail and 6th place in Rookie Cow Work.

  • Sandra Dawson: Showed her technical prowess by winning 1st place in Rookie Trail. Dawson stayed near the top of the standings all weekend, taking 4th place in both Rookie Reining and Rookie Ranch Riding, 4th place in Rookie Cow Work, and 5th place in Rookie Cutting.
