Central Wyoming College Men’s Golf Dominates McCook Invitational; Mason Evans Claims Co-Individual Title

MCCOOK, NE – The Central Wyoming College golf teams kicked off their spring surge this past week at the McCook Community College Invitational (March 26–27). The Rustler men delivered a masterclass in consistency and late-round execution to secure a first-place team finish, while the women's side continued to gain valuable experience in a competitive field.

Men's Division: A Commanding Team Victory

The CWC men's team left little doubt about their dominance in Nebraska. After a solid opening round of 310, the Rustlers caught fire on Day 2, shaving 27 strokes off their team score to card a blistering 283. Their total gross of 593 (+17) secured the 1st place team trophy, finishing 11 strokes ahead of second place Eastern Wyoming College.

The individual leaderboard was a sea of "Rustler Green," with four CWC golfers finishing inside the top six:

  • Mason Evans: Finished in a Tie for 1st Place with a total of 146 (+2). Evans was spectacular in the final round, shooting a 69 to jump into the co-championship spot.

  • Brodie Dale: Secured a Tie for 3rd Place (147), also carding a 69 in the final round to help propel the team to victory.

  • Tyler Ewell: Earned a 5th place finish (149), highlighted by a strong 71 in round two.

  • Houston Dunn: Rounded out the top performances in 6th place (151).

Women's Division: Showing Resilience

On the women's side, the Rustlers competed against a strong Eastern Wyoming squad. CWC was led by Addyson Levanger, who put together two consistent rounds to finish in 8th place with a total of 176.

Teammate Cami Rohrbaugh also displayed grit throughout the tournament, finishing in 11th place with a total of 190.
