Central Wyoming College Golf Teams Show Resilience at Homestake Invite

The Central Wyoming College Rustlers men's and women's golf teams recently wrapped up competition at the Homestake Invite in Spearfish, South Dakota, showcasing determination and strong individual performances despite tough competition. 

The Central Wyoming Men's Golf team secured a respectable 3rd place finish with a total team score of +42. The Rustlers posted a +28 in Round 1 and improved significantly in the second round with a +14 score, demonstrating a strong push to close out the tournament.

Individually, Tyler Ewell led the charge for the Rustlers, finishing in 2nd place overall. Ewell shot a solid +1 for the tournament, with a Round 1 score of +2 and an impressive −1 in Round 2. He was the only Rustler to finish under par for a round and only one stroke behind the individual champion.

Houston Dunn also delivered a strong performance for Central Wyoming, finishing at +12. Dunn's rounds included a +6 and another +6. His consistency helped solidify the team's standing.

The Central Wyoming Women's Golf team finished in 8th place overall with a total team score of +132. The team's score included a +70 in the first round and a +62 in the second, showing notable improvement of 8 strokes on the second day of competition.

On the individual leaderboard, Cheyenne Ward finished with a total score of +29 (T-26th), posting rounds of +15 and +14. Her second-round score was a one-stroke improvement.

Tegan Halloran finished close behind at +31 (T-30th), showing her strongest play in Round 2 with a +17 after a +14 in Round 1. Other Rustlers contributing included Isabell Salas at +34 (T-34th) and Addyson Levanger at +38 (38th). Salas was particularly consistent, shooting +17 in both rounds.

The Rustler's next competition will be take place in Sterling, CO on October 2 & 3, and then travel to Billings, MT on October 6 & 7 for the Yellowjacket Invitational.
